• Q.  How does a referee get a game assignment?
  • A.  Referees may only be assigned by a certified assignor.  Referees are prohibited from "trading" assignments without the expressed permission of the game assignor.  FYSA is required to provide certified assignors for all matches.  There are no "friendly games" with FYSA.  A list of assignors is available from the Home page link, "Registrations."  Call one.  They just love to hear from you!
• Q.  When do I use the 2-man referee system and when do I use the 3-man system?
  • A.  NEVER use the 2-man system for any FYSA or FSSA match.  Use club linesman to fill in your crew every time it is feasible to do so.  ALWAYS use the "diagonal system of control" as discussed in the USSF publication, "Rules of Procedures for Referee, Assistant Referee and 4th Official."
