QWhat should you do when a referee doesn't know the law?

A.  That depends on who you are.  Unless you are in an "official capacity," you should put your issue in writing and submit it to your District Referee Administrator.  The Referee Code of Ethics, found in the Administrative Manual, prohibits public criticism by referees (in or out of uniform) against fellow referees by the statement, "I will be loyal to my fellow officials and never knowingly promote criticism of them."  For interpretations of the Law, the State Director of Instruction should be contacted.  That is the ONLY official in Florida authorized to interpret the law for Florida Referees.

Contact information for your DRA and the SDI are found on the Home page link "FSR Organization."
