USASA Referee of the Year Award Program
Purpose:
FSR wishes to recognize the contribution referees are making to the game and
to the advancement of Amateur soccer.
Award:
1. Florida Referee of the Year will receive a recognition
award form FSR.
2. The selected Regional Referees of the Year as well as the
USASA
Referee of the Year will receive a recognition award and will be introduced
by the Referee Committee to the membership during the USASA 2003 Mid-Year
Meeting;
Nomination Process:
1. Each Area Administrator will be on the committee, have one
vote the
Committee will use the resumes of each Area Referees of the Year to select
the Florida Amateur Referee of the Year.
2. Committee members cannot vote for a referee from their
Area.
3. In case of a tie, the Committee Chair will cast the
deciding vote.
4. The nomination will require the approval of the FSSA
President.
The USASA Referee of the Year is selected from nominations by State
Associations.
Basic Criteria Used for the Selection of the Referee of the Year Include:
1. The candidate must have been active in refereeing USASA
sanctioned
games within the previous USASA seasonal year.
2. Whether the candidate is active in more than one USASA
program, such
as referee, coach, administrator, player, etc.
3. The referee grade is not a criterion for the selection.

Referee-Of-The-Year Application Form. The Area submitting the candidate
there must be a copy of the candidate's resume. Committee Chair will
submit
the name of the selected candidate together with the names of all nominated
to the Office of SRA for the approval of the FSSA President.
