FLORIDA REFEREE ACADEMY
REFEREE
DEVELOPMENTAL “PATH”
- Referee to be identified/recommended to
Area Director Referee Academy (ADRA) by mentors (other referees;
assessors; instructors; FSR administrative staff; assignors for local
clubs; or club referee trainers (CRTs).
- ADRA
may utilize experienced mentors and FSR-affiliated staff to do informal
observations of recommended, potential candidates.
- Referee (approved Academy candidate; minimum age 17) to attend and successfully complete Area Academy requirements:
- Fitness
test (USSF standard)
- Written
test (Laws of the Game)
- Classroom
instructions / field training
- (Referee)
career development training
- Informal
game observation / formal (8>7 upgrade) assessment
- Recommendation
from ADRA for next (State) Academy level
- Referee
(minimum age 18) to attend and successfully complete State
(intermediate) Academy (similar to above format, but at a
higher level)
- Participate in FYSA tournaments
- President’s
Cup
- Final
Four (Youth State Cup)
- Other
FYSA-affiliated and approved tournaments
- Attend and successfully complete State (advanced) Academy:
- Coordinated
with (FL) Pro Clinic
- Required
for National Referee Candidates
