FLORIDA REFEREE ACADEMY

 

REFEREE DEVELOPMENTAL “PATH”

 

 

  1. Referee to be identified/recommended to Area Director Referee Academy (ADRA) by mentors (other referees; assessors; instructors; FSR administrative staff; assignors for local clubs; or club referee trainers (CRTs).
    • ADRA may utilize experienced mentors and FSR-affiliated staff to do informal observations of recommended, potential candidates.

 

 

  1. Referee  (approved Academy candidate; minimum age 17) to attend and successfully complete Area Academy requirements:
    • Fitness test (USSF standard)
    • Written test (Laws of the Game)
    • Classroom instructions / field training
    • (Referee) career development training
    • Informal game observation / formal (8>7 upgrade) assessment
    • Recommendation from ADRA for next (State) Academy level

 

  1. Referee (minimum age 18) to attend and successfully complete State (intermediate) Academy (similar to above format, but at a higher level)

 

  1. Participate in FYSA  tournaments
    • President’s Cup
    • Final Four (Youth State Cup)
    • Other FYSA-affiliated and approved tournaments

 

  1. Attend and successfully complete  State (advanced) Academy:
    • Coordinated with  (FL) Pro Clinic
    • Required for National Referee Candidates

 

6.     Participation in regional and professional competitions

·        FSSA State Cup

·        Select (adult) tournaments

·        Regional and professional competitions
