Over the past year we have been working with US Youth Soccer
to develop modified rules for the Small-Sided Game (U12-U6). These
modified rules should be used in conjunction with the Recreational Referee Grade
9 Course. You can access the rules for the Small Sided Game (U12-U6) at
the following web address: http://www.usyouthsoccer.org/coaches/rules/index_E.html.
Those
states that do not offer the Recreational Referee Grade 9 Course and have been
asked by their State Youth Association to supply referees for Small-Sided Games
should make every effort to insure that their instructors provide information to
referees taking the Entry Level Course so they are prepared to officiate these
games.
US Soccer and US Youth Soccer position statements are
similar. We are committed work with the State Youth Associations in their
player development. At the same time we are dedicated to training our
referees to meet the demands of today and the future for the game of soccer.
Please contact our office if you have any
questions.
